VIDEO 1: WELCOME TO OPENTRONS!
Opentrons OT-2 liquid handling robot and system is the most affordable, easy to use, and user- friendly hardware made specifically for scientists. It uses verified electronic pipettes that have been optimized for the OT-2, and custom hardware including a magnetic bead-based chemistry block, a heating and cooling block, a thermocycler, and a HEPA filtration system. It can help you automate all kinds of wetlab workflows from basic pipetting to complex workflows like NGS library preparation. Take a look:
VIDEO 2: HOW THE OPENTRONS PLATFORM WORKS
Opentrons designed its lab automation platform to maximize flexibility. You can use any standard labware from 384-well plates up to 50ml falcon tubes on the OT-2. You can also use universal bore tips--but we recommend using Opentrons Tips because they’re optimized to ensure performance and reliability. The OT-2 can also hold two electronic pipettes at once and use both during a protocol. Learn more here:
VIDEO 3: CUSTOM MODULAR HARDWARE
Opentrons utilizes custom modular hardware on its OT-2 for best results. Opentrons Electronic Pipettes come in single- and 8-channel versions and can pipette volumes from one microliter to one-thousand microliters. Opentrons Temperature Module holds reagents at a constant temperature between 4 and 95 degrees Celsius, and can use labware from 2ml tubes to 96-well PCR plates. Opentrons Magnetic Module uses magnetic beads and high-strength N42 neodymium magnets to automate full purification protocols. Opentrons Thermocycler Module has fully programmable lid and block temperatures. Opentrons’ brand-new HEPA Module removes 99.99% of 0.3 um DNA-containing particulates and biological contaminants from the air, creating a clean work environment inside the OT-2. Learn more here:
