PRL have encountered a small percentage of the BA.2 Omicron variant. Our PCR test continues to remain effective against SARS-CoV-2 and known variants.
Pandemic Response Lab’s reliable, low cost, rapid PCR and whole genome sequencing capabilities are crucial for ongoing vigilance against new SARS-CoV-2 variants. To date, our molecular PCR test continues to accurately detect SARS-CoV-2 and its known variants, including the “stealthâ Omicron sub-variant BA.2. As of January 30th, our sequencing pipeline has encountered a small number of the BA.2 variant, and we continue to report processed genomes to public databases.
